Confined Space Training

The Confined Space Training Course aims to provide participants the practical skills and knowledge to work safely in a confined space. The course will also provide the abilities required to provide emergency rescue in a confined space.

The course includes class participation through discussion topics and practical aspects of the course. This is coupled with theoretical elements throughout the course. Course topics include:

Define the respective State or Territory legislation relevant to confined spaces.
Define the health effects relating to confined space work
Demonstrate the correct use of self contained breathing apparatus and other respiratory devices
Using a specified device, demonstrate atmospheric testing techniques
Demonstrate standby functions and confined space safe work procedures
Demonstrate rescue techniques for rescuing a casualty from a confined space using specifically designed equipment

Course Duration
The Confined Space Training is a 2 day course if an applicant has previously acquired a Construction Induction Card. If not the course runs over 3 days.

Course Requirements
Participant must have an acceptable standard of health, which will allow them to enter into a confined space, using breathing apparatus.

Validity
Confined Space Trainees will be required to take a refresher course every 3 years.

Course Completion Requirements
Participants will be required to complete a short written assessment and ongoing assessment will occur throughout the course.

Venue
To be advised/arranged upon time of booking, or can be carried out on site to client's requirements.

NB:
Due to the practical features of the Confined Space course, it is advised that the attendee wear casual clothing.
